KITCHEN MAKEOVER: THE AFTER!

Hi Everyone,

We'll we've made it to Friday and you know what that means? My kitchen takes center stage today! For those of you who missed the before...read all about my kitchen journey right here.

Just as a reminder, here is the "before":

And here's the after!

We're calling this the "mini" update, since all we did was update the chairs and curtains and added some new accessories. But man, it feels so much more finished. The new chairs and bolder colors seem to flow a lot better with the modern finishes. I hardly ever decorate in a match-y way like this or even with a very distinct color pattern, and so this felt really fun, fresh, and EASY! I highly recommend it every once in a while.

Here are my sources:
  • Chairs. A long time ago I saw those puppies in this Emily Henderson post and never forgot them. They are from Overstock and are a great deal. Buy them here. Thank you so much, Emily!  The pillows are super, duper old and from a Crate and Barrel outlet.
  • Curtains. IKEA to the rescue! I wanted something bright since I wasn't painting and needed to bring some color into the room. I also needed something cheap, so let's face it: IKEA was the only option. It was a just a stroke of luck that they had a cool abstract curtain with aqua, lime and black. Score.
  • The stepping stool was an IKEA DIY. Read all about here! And you already know all about the lime!
  • Aqua Mixer. Honestly, it's no secret that I probably designed the entire kitchen around this bad boy. And my mom and mother-in-law will be pleased to know that isn't just used as decor! I even have the chocolate chip cookies to prove it.
That's it. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Love,

PS: My husband and I work full time, so all of our photo shoots take place on weekends. If you ever want a sneak peak, just follow me (blythe75) on instagram
