Staycation + Photo of the Day?

Hey Deweese,

I had not heard of Jessica Culter, thanks for the juicy gossip! How was your weekend? Our weekend was awesome for many reasons... mostly because Meg and Drew (some of my and Deweese's closest friends to everyone reading) came to visit and we had so much fun catching up with them.  The weather was a less than perfect, but we brightened the mood by having yummy everything bagel egg sandwiches, huddling in some very cozy neighborhood restaurants, and by getting $9 manicures (well that part was just the ladies).

The really, really, really big news I have to share is that Nick has just finished a HUGE project at work. After lots of long nights and weekends, he is done! For those that don't know, Nick is a visual effects artist for documentary TV. The program he's been working on is a 4-part series for PBS called "Fabric of the Cosmos".  Check out the trailer:

Pretty great, right? Needless to say, Nick and I are both ready for a little relaxation and quality time together... so we decided to do the unthinkable. We are taking this entire week off as a "Staycation"! We couldn't be more excited. No packing, no traveling and FREE! Since we moved here (three years ago already!) we've noted so many things we'd like to do/see. This week we'll finally have the time to enjoy NYC to the fullest (and get some much needed rest, too!).

To celebrate/kick this off, I have an idea.  For this week only, I was thinking you and I could each post a "photo of the day" of a something cool we saw or did, a meal we ate, whatever!  I think it would be a great to stay in touch and share some great memories from this week... AND I'd love to see what you are up to (especially with your new your career). Show and tell!

Diving right in, here's a pic of me and Meg on Saturday at Citifield for the Mets game.  Nick was upset that it was so bright/washed out... but I love the pastels!

D, you in? If so post away!

PS: Thank you for the sweet words about the plant and the artwork! I will definitely take a close up photo of the sculpture.  As for the plant, we have no idea what it is called, we just liked the look of it and threw away the tag! Oops! Also, we are killing it slowly. Seriously.  Does anyone out there know what it is and how to care for it?? Would love some advice!

  1. I can't even handle how many graphics are in the preview alone! What an intense project! Great photo of you and Meggie V!

  2. Nicky - this preview is amazing! so impressed!
