Million Dollar Quartet

Hi Deweese,

How was DERBY!? I can't wait to see pics of the party... I'm sure it was a huge success! Nick and I had a whirlwind day on Saturday. First brunch with Jess at B.Cafe (yum), then our own mini Derby party (I bet on Mucho Macho Man and ended up winning the pool!) However in the end, we were all cheering for Pants on Fire. Gooo women! Then Nick and I hurried over to Times Square to see our friend Billy Woodward preform on Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet... as none other than ELVIS PRESLEY.

The Original Million Dollar Quartet:
Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash

Our seats were fantastic (best I've ever had at Broadway) and our friend give an outstanding performance. All around us people were whispering... "Wow, that Elvis is just PERFECT." I had chills throughout the whole thing and felt like this was a total "somebody pinch me" moment in my life!

Afterward we we hung around while Billy signed a few playbills (women were all giggly and still calling him Elvis!) and then grabbed a couple of drinks with him to celebrate. We even got to meet some of the other cast members. Nick and I had a gazillion questions for Billy and like the professional he is, Billy answered them all in stride and with style... just like The King himself.

Also FYI/BTDubbs, Billy's other gig, his band Billy Woodward and the Senders (also here), has a schedule much like this blog! They are playing at NYC's Rockwood Music Hall this Friday and also at DC's Black Cat later this month.

What an incredible day!
