Design*Sponge Before and Afters

How cool that you know someone who performs on Broadway. Didn't Billy get scooped up by a talent scout who saw his band perform? What a whirlwind that must have been! The show looks amazing.

The Derby Party and Graduation were amazing this weekend, everything went off without a hitch and we had a blast. Sooooo proud of Lil' Q, who because of her incredible academic record (obvi doesn't take after me), was honored at the ceremony and was one of three students who actually sat on the stage. This also meant that her adoring family got to sit in the third row (I think my parents were in the nosebleeds). It was amazing! And AU still has the bagpipes at the ceremony which I love. Pics to come!

I was perusing Design*Sponge the other day and I had forgotten how much I love the before & after section. I think it's a really refreshing segment of all the design blogs I read because it involves real people rehabbing a piece of furniture or something they found in their basement. And for the most part, they seem like projects I could actually do too... though a backyard or garage would help. And there are a lot of things featured that you can easily find on Craig's List for next to nothing or might already have at home. That being said, some things are above my level of expertise, but it's always fun to get ideas and I've noticed that I look at old pieces of furniture a little differently now.

Here are some of my recent favorites...
