Hudson, NY

Your post is so sweet. I can't believe you kept Sam's number! HA! You were such an amazing help that day.

And, um, D... those jeans are awesome! I am obsessed with my wide leg high-waisted ones (and so does Emily Henderson, and hers are lighter, too, watch here). You are going to love them! So glad you had a lovely lil' shopping day after such a long hiatus!

So. Here are our photos from Hudson, NY:

Seriously, D, Hudson has the best antiquing we've ever seen. From perfectly restored mid-century (whoop, Nicky!) to the most beautiful reclaimed barn wood pieces (whoop, Blythe!). Overall, not our budget, but still the best window shopping in the world. And we did manage to purchase some old sheet music and a wire sculpture for our very bare walls. Here's where we stayed/ate/shopped:

All amazing. When we came home it was gorgeous (80 degrees) in NYC! We went down to Battery Park and visited the statue my mom calls "The 7th Bridesmaid":

PS: Thank goodness for my favorite blogs Design*Sponge, Hither and Thither and A Cup of Jo... all have posted on the Hudson River Valley and thus provided us with so many great ideas!

PPS: Update: The Land's End suits are awesome! Highly recommend. I'm keeping both.... and its not just because I got a hand-written thank you note from "Angela" a few days later in the mail letting me know I can email her with any questions about my purchase! So randomly awesome!

  1. Amazing photos! Particularly loving the "R" (such a sharp, crisp letter!) and the gorgeous shot of the "7th bridesmaid." I'll add that to another Anna-ism that I love :) So excited to hear the good news about those great bathing suits! xo

  2. Thanks, L-Love! Thought you might like the "R". Girl, you gotta get on the bathing won't be disappointed! Get one of those gorgeous plum colors they have so this redhead can live vicariously!

  3. Came upon your blog and really enjoyed looking at your photos of the Hudson. They have an raw but artistic quality.
