Coral, Slate & Emerald

Wow, I like the Paloma. Its modern but speaks to a time of retro coolness -- like a 1970's California. Maybe swung the other way it could be a little lodge-y, but what's not to love about a lodge? Is this for use as a TV stand? True about what Lil' Q said about the dusting, but she's obviously never met your BFF: Mr. Dyson.

I guess I like Jenifer Lawrence's look, but its clear she's still pretty green in the whole show business world (which frankly makes me like her even more). That being said, Honeysuckle IS Pantone's Color of 2011. I thought some stars, especially Claire Danes at the Golden Globes, pulled off the bright pink a really great way.

Speaking of peachy pink, I'd like to let you in on a potential new color scheme for my bedroom... but first, the back story. As you know the walls are Wedgewood Gray. The bedding is white and the furniture is mainly white with one dark wood piece (read: blank canvas). I was originally thinking of getting an oriental rug and make it modern and airy like the following photo:

But when I came home on Sunday, Nick had filled the apartment with flowers for me (!) and placed a beautiful arrangement of coral roses in the bedroom:
All the sudden the roses oddly reminded me of a super old snippet and ink post you sent me back during "wedding planning 2009-2010" that featured coral and emerald green:

Gasp. So now I am thinking a color combo of coral, slate and like a emerald/moss could be quite gorgeous. Thoughts? I want to be sure to avoid an overly preppy look, as usual. I'm thinking I could achieve this scheme by incorporating the coral and emerald through accessories like these:

The Otomi embroidered runner we purchased on our honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico. I'd like to make it into a wall hanging so I can stare at it everyday:
A couple of solid green touches:

And maybe this beautiful Ikat pattern throw pillow from Etsy that I've been coveting:
